TDIH - "Santa Sat Down and Cried" ??

http://www.archive.org/details/gd1973-03-31.sbd.bertha-ashley.31604.sbeok.flac16

Can someone with better hearing than me tell me I'm not hearing things?

And another thing is E Hunt going for Jaqurboyo's job

From Evan H review - "Every song is essentially solid even from the get-go casting itself immortally into the Archipelago and stomach-upped cayman. Ooooh, such strokes! Sure to lure you into a chasm of glee."

If you listen closely, just before the song opens, someone in the crowd yells "hey Santa you big fatso" or something like that. The Santa part is really clear and I think Jerry was just havin fun with it.

Ah, OK--I can go with "Sant-ee" like AWest said above...and this tidbit makes some bizarre sense (crowd yell). I just wasn't hearing the "a" in Santa...

Maybe they'll release the video in Smell-o-vision.

Sounds like 'Santa' to me. Unless there was someone in his life called 'Sandra'...

Thanks Snori - guess I'm not crazy (or at least not hearing things).

Good tight show all around - Love the TLEO and GSET

haven't got round to the rest of the show - I'm listening to a 1970 Pink Floyd show, and wasting the company's time with amusements like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2FX9rviEhw God bless the interweb !

Doth thou not understandeth fine prose when one readeth it?

But seriously, I was almost lured into a chasm of glee at a Ratt/Bon Jovi show. It wasn't the strokefest that was promised.

Well you're hearing things but not exactly what I hear. Sounds to me like he sings 'said I sat down and cried'.

On the other hand I think you must definitely have been seeing things as I can't bring myself to believe that someone really put sentences like those together and hit submit with a clear conscience. Just couldn't have happened, sparky.

On the other topic, E Hunt is the one that said Henedrix DID play at one of the Avalon Shows in Oct 68...he refuses to believe the other widely circulated stories of that famous weekend interaction between our boys and Jimi (see his review of the 12th or 13th). He was THERE and he saw what he saw.

Strangely, he is clearly a Bay Area fellow, and he has the name of an older brother of someone I knew there in the 60s. Almost a little embarrassed to say so...

Yep, agree with Rob...it sounds most like "...said he set down and..." though I have no idea why. I hear three syllables/words: said/he/set or maybe sadie/set.

I defn don't hear "Santa" but agree it is an odd one...

Sounds like "Santa" to me. I wonder why he was pondering Santa in the beginning of Spring. The world may never know.

Looks to be a really nice show. I can't wait to get to the He's Gone/ Truckin jam. I don't believe I ever heard it. Thank you for the link.

Actually to me it sounds more like "Santy"

but I used to like to hang close to the speakers so what do I know?
